Four Years Ago....
Four years ago today my husband and I were standing in St. Peter's Square listening to Pope John Paul II declare the words
We declare and define Blessed Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer to be a Saint, and We inscribe his name in the catalogue of the Saints, ordaining that, throughout the universal Church, he be devoutly honored among the Saints. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Our special intention to the new Saint was to send us a blessing of a child. We had been married 3 years and no success. Almost to the day, one year later, our child was born.
So it is with gratitude and joy that we recall this day, our trip, and constantly behold our son, the answer to our prayers.

Beautiful. What a wonderful story. I was just remembering today the 4 year long wait I had until I had my son. Oh, the countless rosaries said for the arrival of my little boy!
And how truly blessed you are to have been able to see and hear our beloved John Paul II.

4 years, wow! What a hardship! The three years seemed like an eternity to us. I was married at age 33, all my sisters except one had honeymoon babies, so I just thought I wouldn't have problems.

Jenn, I am overwhelmed by this post and the beauty of your family.
BTW, my parents waited four long and disappointing years before they finally had their baby--me. My mother credits St. Joseph's intercession for that pregnancy.
St. Josemaria, pray for us!

Thank you, Alice. I can't begin to tell you how much your sweet words mean.
And how beautiful of your parents...St. Joseph and St. Therese brought dh and I together...so we've got a quiver full of saints to whom we are forever grateful.

Jenn, to clarify my son is my second, but there was a mysterious near four year stretch where I was unable to conceive.
I am exploring all the links on your site right now. What a treasure of information!

How beautiful! St. Josemaria Escriva is one of my FAVORITE saints.
PS. So you're a Steubenville grad? We may well have some mutual friends...

I am crying! How beautiful. A 54 day rosary novena has brought me both of my children so I know how special prayers are to conceive or adopt. God bless!

Thank you Margaret and Marybeth! It gets me choked up also when I think of it. And I think it's high time for another novena or two. The 54 day rosary novena sounds like a great idea.

Jenn,
What a beautiful story.
I will be praying to St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer on your behalf for another miracle blessing. God's will be done.

Cay and Suzanne...thank you. It makes me choked up quite often, too. I can't get over the awesome miracle of a little child, whether it's mine or someone else's. And this makes it even more awesome.
